CIJ: I’m Dreaming of a White Christmas

July 26, 2009

It has been at least 10+ years since I have had a White snowy Christmas.And Even longer than that for Mister Electrician.Sure Christmas in a joyous time of the year but just once I would like to see snow or have it snow on Christmas.Living in Florida we knew that was quite impossible. But now that we live in Missouri we usually see snow around January or February well in my 3years of being here. Yes snow is wet and it’s cold but it is oh so pretty to see  and how the sun glistens on it or even the moon light reflection upon freshly fallen snow.When I  lived in Idaho  my Dear Dad would go outside on Christmas Eve and make “reindeer” prints in the snow and Christmas morning he would show me that yes Santa Claus did visit our house.Those were some very memorable times. I guess I’m just wishing for the snow that way I can pass on the “reindeer” prints to show my own children.The two older ones may not be convinced but I’m sure that the youngest one would believe.And I’m sure that Dad would be watching from Heaven Smiling upon us and remembering the times that he would do that for me. So MotherNature if your listening please give me a White Christmas this year. Thanks

Monday Mayhem

July 13, 2009

Today I took all 3 kidlets to the Dentist for their check-up and cleaning , While waiting for our turn My son along with two other boys his age convince my 5 year old that the Dentist is going to drill her teeth with a drill the size of the length of their arm. Now mind you this is all being explained by 8 and 9 year old boys to a 5 year old little girl . So you can only imagine what is going through her mind. I try to set the record straight and tell her that the drill is not that big and more than likely she will not be any need for a drill today.. Then she proceeds to ask me if the Dentist has a drill the same size as her Dad’s drill. Which he uses a Commercial Professional Grade Craftsman 19.6 V Hammer Drill. I tell her once again no honey it is not that big or as large. So she goes on her merry way playing with the toys provided and occasionally glances at the magazines while we are waiting our turn to be seen. Finally They call her back along with her older siblings . Her two older siblings are sitting in Opposite rooms in the dentist chair. Being examined and having x-rays taken. My 5 year old freaks thinking it is some sort of laser okay no more Sci-fi movies for her. She clutches my hand tightly and asks if Her sister and brother are going to be okay . Big tears are streaming down her face and just the look of the Dental assistant I could tell that I needed to get her to relax. So about 20 minutes later it is finally her turn . The Dentist asks her to sit in the chair so she does535043470_5283b427b9_m

Then he put on his mask well that sent her over the edge so I had to put her on my lap so he could take a look inside of her mouth. Not Happening it was like what you see on TV when Animal rescuers are trying to capture an Alligator. So I say to her just open your mouth and it will all be over. She opens her mouth part of the way just enough for him to look and that was it. When it was all over she just about squeezed the life out of me with tears running down her face smiled at the Dentist and apologized and said “Next time I will be better” awe how sweet. He handed her a new Ariel toothbrush and toothpaste and told her to brush and see you next time. He was really nice about the whole thing.So That was my Monday How was yours???…

Summer fun with Science

June 25, 2009

So my children came home with this list  just before school  was out.. and I found this interesting  and wanted to share with you..

1. Leonardo  Da  Salty…

* you will need*

Warm water, Salt, Q-tips, Plain Paper, Food Coloring, Several small containers

*What to do*

Mix the warm water  and the salt together into as many containers as you have food coloring. Add a different  food color to each container and mix well. Use your Q-tips or paint  brushes to paint a picture.. Put it on thick so that when it dries it will show up well.. Let the painted paper sit for several hours until it is completely dry.

*What Happened*

The Salt and the Food Coloring both dissolve in the warm water when mixed together. However , as the water evaporates, the salt and the colors remain on the page to create a picture.

2. Homemade Bubbles                           bubles

* you will need*

2 Tablespoons dishwashing liquid,  A cup of Warm Water

*what to do*

Mix your dishwashing liquid and warm water * hint* add a little sugar to make your bubbles last longer.( The bubbles burst when they dry out and the sugar slows  down the evaporation)

Something you can not put a price tag on!

May 6, 2009

I’m sitting here looking at my children and thinking where did the time go
My oldest daughter will be 11 this month and I’m thinking where is my little girl I know she is in there somewhere, She has gone from flavored Chapstick to glossy flavored Lipgloss, whats next Lipsticks and Lipstains whoa put on the brakes,I’m starting to prepare my self for the day we have to go out and purchase a bra which probably won’t be to much longer .If she knew that I was writing this she would just freak out .In a flash she went from nursery rhymes to the Jonas Brothers. My son who recently turned 9 still has his boyish charm but fine tuned he still plays with his Hot Wheels which he will switch out for his own set of wheels and asking to borrow the car keys before I know it. His choice in music went from Mozart to Metallica and Kiss
yes my son likes this type of music which I could see my self going to one of these type concerts with in the future. Then there is my 5 year old daughter who still somewhat sucks her thumb when she is extremely tired and wants to come snuggle with mom and dad at the crack of dawn on the weekends, She her self has grown over the years and will be attending Kindergarten in the fall. I cherish each and every memory that I have experienced with each child, Each with their own personalities and quirks. I was asked what I wanted for Mother’s Day and I told the 3 of them I already have what I want, . I don’t need candy or flowers to remind me that I’m a Mom all I have to do is glance and my wonderful, beautiful children and to know that they are mine, Why ask for anything more where I have been already blessed. To be there mom is an honor and that is something that you can not put a price tag on.
